Water Out Cincinnati saves the day
at country club wedding reception
Jack Kilgore, Water Restoration Manager from Water Out
Cincinnati / Widmers (OH), sent in a great story last week about a job they
completed using the Water Out® trailer for climate control. Jack tells
the story; “We were called in by a wedding planner at a local country
club to assess a humidity and condensation problem inside a tent over an outdoor,
heated pool. We brought in the Water Out® trailer for climate control
so the condensation problem wouldn’t occur another night. The tent’s
size was 166’ x 56’ with parts of the pool covered and a glass
dance floor over portions of the pool.
The trailer ran part-time for two days. Many people involved themselves on
how this job should be handled, we all know how people in our industry think
they know our jobs better than ourselves, but I finally got the chance to
speak with the father paying for the wedding reception and he liked what I
was telling him over everyone else. The first night without the climate control
it was literally raining inside the tent, but the next two nights with the
climate control no trouble was encountered and everyone walked away very happy.
It was very nice for this to go so well for us as the client is a respected
multi-business owner in the city.”
Fantastic work, Jack, and a very unique story, keep up the great work.

Water Out Cincinnati dries a concrete floor at a Florida University
Water Out Cincinnati / Widmer’s (OH) handled a loss in Florida recently
when they received a call from a University and construction company regarding
a situation they were presented with. “The moisture content level was
too high in the concrete sub-floor on the lower level in a new building. The
carpet installers refused to lay the carpet until the vapor emissions moisture
content level was down around 5.0%. At the time of the last test the floor
was around 8.8% and the construction company had been running conventional
equipment for about three weeks. Once we spoke with all parties involved,
the Water Out® division came up with a plan and put it into effect.
The scope of work was to construct a tent in the entire affected area to eliminate
some of the cubic footage of air to treat. This included tenting an area consisting
of about 18 offices, hallways and laboratories. It was a challenging project,
but we conquered every problem. In the end we lowered the content level to
5.2% and they proceeded with the carpet installation. All parties walked away
happy, and the University wants to sit down and talk with us about doing emergency
services for them in the future.”
Excellent work to everyone at Water Out Cincinnati!

Widmers Cleaners / Water Out of Cincinnati instructs Ohio insurance adjusters
and agents
Joni Mertz of Widmers Cleaners / Water Out Cincinnati sent in some great updates
this week from Ohio.
“Widmers presented their second annual Water Damage Restoration Course
featuring Jeff Bishop on Tuesday, May 17, 2005. Over 100 insurance adjusters
and agents attended this annual event.
At this year’s event we featured our Water Out® trailer, Steve Toohey
of Mr. Rapid / Water Out of Canton brought his Water Out® trailer, and
Richard and Nick Zeis from Quick Dry Inc. / Water Out of Tiffin were also
on hand. In addition, Steve brought his thermal imaging camera and a demonstration
was given using the camera. The adjusters / agents left with a better understanding
of the various equipment used for drying as well as what equipment dries in
the least amount of time.
Water Out Cincinnati was also called in to assist a local restoration company
franchisee in the drying of a 100 year-old building in Barboursville, Kentucky.
The restoration company had heard about Water Out® and called when they
were having trouble drying the sub-floor. The sub-floor on the second level
had been built up about eight inches with carpet and linoleum within the layers
and a plank floor on top. With the Water Out® trailer the dry down was
completed in 2 1/2 days.”
Excellent work Joni, Jim Olmstead and the entire Widmers / Water Out of Cincinnati
team.

Joni Mertz of Widmer’s Cleaners, our Cincinnati, Ohio, Water Out®
members, sent in a story this month as well from a residential project that
Jim Olmstead and the Widmer’s team had dried. “The owner and his
family were away on vacation and came home to find that the water heater on
the second floor had caused a vacationer’s return nightmare. Water on
three floors and the house consisted of plaster walls with acoustic tiles
and drywall overtop plaster. Minimal tear out was done and the place was dry
in five days thanks to Water Out®.”
Fantastic job, Joni and Jim.
